Hello World!

Hello World!

So technically I have had this blog for a while but I have never really used it.  I am hoping to change that.  We will see how it goes but I think it is time to start documenting my adventures.  Not that they are anything to extraordinarily but I have fun with them.
I expect that this will primarily be a photography blog.  Or at least a place where I can share a few pictures and some of the stories and adventures behind them.  Besides photography you may find the occasional post about camping, backpacking, hiking, poker, travel, computer programming, gaming, and who knows what else.
Anyway,  thanks for stopping by.

Plowing Tioga Road through Tuolumne Meadows

It appears that most of the roads into the sierras are now open including (as of this morning) Tioga Road.  However no camping, lodging, or other services will be available along the road.

Here is another picture from my drive through the Los Padres National Forest:

After exiting out of the national forest I headed up north along the 101 and the PCH and camped at Jalama Beach.  Here are a couple of pictures from there:

The next morning I continued up the PCH to Lompoc and stopped off at the La Purisima Mission State Park.  I love taking pictures of missions.  Here are a couple from this trip:

Los Padres National Forest

I took a drive this weekend through Los Padres National Forest near Frasier Park.  I had been dying to get up into the mountains and hoped to do some car camping.  Unfortunately the higher elevation camp grounds were still closed for the winter.
